Converted timber carriers outfitted to carry and support salvage and research submersibles and to carry out salvage activies. Retain two cargo holds and are fitted with extensive heavy-lift booms; one hold converted to carry submersibles. The last unit is apparently used mainly for "research". All have probably been involved in covert "ocean engineering" work in the past.
